Manchester-By-The-Sea Basement Playroom and Attic Guest Suite
What started as a long, narrow basement and an underused attic evolved into two thoughtfully designed spaces that reflect both imagination and intention.
Our client envisioned a vibrant, multifunctional space where her young kids could play, create, and explore—now and for years to come. We transformed the basement into a playful yet practical haven, rich with texture, color, and custom details:
A cozy living room with a plush, modular sectional in the softest custom upholstery
A whimsical hanging chair adds just the right touch of fun.
A wallpapered feature wall frames a built-in desk and storage area
The Lego station features a large play table and sleek display shelves
A climbing wall, gym mirror, and gymnastics bar setup bring movement and energy
A play market features a custom fabric awning and coordinating pillows
Every inch was carefully considered to spark joy today and flex with the family’s needs as the children grow. Upstairs, the formerly awkward attic has been reimagined into a calm, sophisticated retreat for guests:
• We designed a custom desk and storage wall to anchor the oversized landing
• A snug living area with a tailored sectional fits seamlessly under low ceilings
• The bedroom layers neutral tones—beige, warm browns, and soft blue-grays
This project balances whimsy and wellness, color and calm, function and flexibility—all under one roof.
