Rooms to Grow: Charlestown
It is always a joy to return to a family’s home and help their spaces evolve right alongside them. For this Charlestown project, we reimagined two girls’ bedrooms as they moved into new stages: one from nursery to big-girl room, and the other from toddler space to a more functional, personality-filled bedroom for a six-year-old.
The designs balance whimsy and longevity, layering soft palettes of pink, blue, purple, and fairy-inspired details with practical solutions for storage, sleep, play, and future homework needs.
One especially meaningful update was revisiting a painted-arch bookcase wall from our original work together. What once served as a reading wall and floor play zone was thoughtfully adapted by removing the lowest shelf and sourcing just the right desk, creating a homework nook that feels intentional, built-in, and ready for the next chapter.
The result is a pair of bedrooms that feel personal, playful, and polished — designed not just for who these girls are today, but for who they are becoming.
Let’s create something tailored to your home.
